Almost every Teradata and Think Big customer is challenged to determine what types of workloads and processes should be performed on their Data Warehouse or on Hadoop. In this session, we will review our recommendations and best practices around how you can determine these choices for your customer. Some considerations are clear choices, but most of them require careful consideration to make the right choice. 3:30 - 4:15pm Connected Data - How the proper analytical ecosystem enables multi-genre analytics across the Customer Journey
“Connected Data” isn’t a product - it’s an approach to logically creating an analytical ecosystem that not only supports current BI reporting and visualization requirements but also fundamentally enables multi-genre path and graph analytics that expose brand new areas of business insight. With the development and deployment of customer interaction channels and applications, more sources of customer data and insight exist today than ever before. Getting this data into the data lake isn’t the problem. Performing traditional BI and reporting across the data lake isn’t the problem. Running complex multi-genre analytics across this enterprise dataset isn’t the problem. The problem is that marketing hasn’t evolved in this new era to the point where they even understand the value of multi-genre path and graph analytics. In this presentation, we will use the story of an international retailer that took an outside-in approach to connecting and analyzing data that transformed the abilities of their marketing organization.
