User Defined Functions (UDFs) UDF for SHA-1 Message Digest This UDF implements the Secure Hash Algorithm, SHA-1, for computing a condensed representation of a message. Is_numeric() UDF Is_numeric() UDF checks a field to see if it converts to a Teradata numeric value. One use would be for the ETL process to use the UDF to check incoming data that's destined for DECIMAL and INTEGER columns. Websphere MQ Client This UDF is for use with the WebSphere MQ Client Software. UDF for MD5 Message Digest Use this UDF to implement the MD5 message-digest algorithm. UDF User’s Guide This user’s guide describes the Teradata Warehouse 7.1 User Defined Function (UDF) feature. This guide is primarily targeted towards developers of UDFs and database administrators. Two string UDFs (editdistance and N-Gram) The EDIT distance function returns the minimum number of edit operations required to transform string1 into string2. UDF for Great Circle Distance Calculation This UDF implements the great circle distance algorithm to determine the distance in miles between two points expressed in longitude and latitude. This distribution contains full source code, REPLACE FUNCTION SQL, a test suite and documentation. UDFs for Month/Year Difference Determination These UDFs implement difference determination in months/years using smaller units of granularity, days/months, to accurately calculate the difference. According to the ANSI SQL standard, units smaller than the unit of the result are to be ignored in an SQL calculation, but this can lead to results not consistent with business practices (Refer to NTA 1553). Database Query Log (DBQL) Setup and Maintenance Scripts DBQL provides a series of predefined tables that can store historical records of queries, their duration, performance, and target activity based on rules you specify. In addition, DBQL can log information on the variety of SQL requests that run on Teradata Database, from short transactions to longer-running analysis and mining queries.
